Katy More is an Australian author and mental health advocate whose journey with Bipolar Disorder has shaped both her personal and professional life. Diagnosed at 25, after years of undiagnosed struggles, Katy overcame post-natal depression, financial instability, and marital challenges. Despite these hardships, she founded and ran successful businesses in the recruitment, local media and publishing industries.

Katy initially concealed her Bipolar Disorder from all but her family, using manic episodes to power through work and withdrawing during depressive phases. However, after reaching a breaking point and undergoing hospitalisation, she emerged with a new understanding of her condition and a renewed sense of purpose. Katy now channels her experiences into writing and advocacy, raising awareness about the realities of living with Bipolar Disorder and challenging the stigma that still surrounds mental illness.

Her professional focus is on building businesses and mentoring others, fostering empathy and understanding for individuals facing mental health challenges by using her own story as a powerful example of resilience and determination.

“Katy has presented an open, honest and well-researched description of Bipolar Disorder. Possibly the best way to describe it. She has experienced a wide range of Bipolar phenomena, and her copious journal entries are insightful. Some of her described experiences have been educational to me. I recommend this book to anyone interested in mental illness, especially sufferers and their relaTives.” Dr John Keim MBBS, FRANZCP.Consultant Psychiatrist
